Insomnium Games is always interested in finding both writers and artists to flesh out our Abeo and future lines. If you would like to submit some of your work, please read our submissions rules for more information. Once you have, send a message to our freelance email or send your portfolio via snail mail.
We will reply as promptly as possible, and we will do what we can to include feedback with your work. Good luck, and we hope to be working with you soon.
Art
We are currently looking for art that sets the mood and gives us a good idea of your capabilities. Abeo's theme is "A modern game of dark wonder." Art should be in a modern setting and follow the themes of hopelessness, horror, yearning, insanity, wonder, fury, guilt, anguish, loss and/or hope.
Ideally, art should have a lightly supernatural feel, striding the line between a trick of the light and a moment of true magic. Or terror. With that being said, use your creativity and send us something, even if it isn't quite a perfect fit.
We are also looking for concept art for many of the unique settings and creatures that can be located in our games. Art should ideally consist of a central image and a background. Isolated figures floating in white space should generally be avoided, but will be considered if cleverly done.
Writing
To begin with, we're looking for writers who can set a mood and hook a reader at the same time. We need people who can work with deadlines and requirements. Most of all, we need people willing and able to put in work to get a polished product they, and we, can be proud of. If you've got what we need and are willing to work with us, we're willing to put your work in our books with full credit to you as a writer.
For Abeo we're currently wanting stories about characters being blown out of the stasis of their workaday lives by an encounter either with the unknown or with their own passion. Ideally both. These people are also slowly disappearing, document by document, photograph by photograph.
Send a sample of your writing, 150-500 words to give us an idea of what you're capable of.
